The riverside fishing pier at Smyrna Dunes Park had it’s grand opening on May 26.

This beautiful 350-foot long fishing pier was completed at Smyrna Dunes Park by UESI and Coastal Tech…with  zero safety incidents! It extends into 18 feet of water, allowing fisherman access to a variety of marine wildlife. The pier faces west along the intracoastal waterway and runs parallel to the shore and ends just before the United States Coast Guard Station Ponce De Leon.
The improvements to the boardwalk include widening to eight feet, several observation platforms, shaded picnic pavilions with benches, and handicapped-accessible walkways leading to the inlet, river, and ocean branches. Fishing is allowed throughout the park, but there are no floating docks at the pier for boats to tie up. Dogs will not be allowed on the pier, but the beaches will stay pet-friendly throughout the park.
