Safety Nuclear Coatings Examinations and Application
Nuclear Coatings by UESI: Advanced Safety Solutions for Critical Environments
At UESI, we specialize in providing industry-leading nuclear coatings that ensure the protection, reliability, and longevity of nuclear systems, components, and structures in the Gulf Coast. Our mission is to combine technical expertise with innovative materials to deliver safety coating solutions that meet the highest standards of industrial safety and regulatory compliance.
Expert Inspections and Condition Assessments
Our certified inspectors and diver/inspectors are trained to perform detailed coating inspection services on a wide range of nuclear assets. This includes nuclear containment, fuel pools, safety-related storage tanks, piping, supports, bolting, and ECCS components. Each inspection and assessment is carried out in accordance with client specifications as well as ANSI, ASTM, ASME, and NACE codes, ensuring full regulatory compliance and peace of mind.
Through comprehensive examinations and condition assessments, our team identifies coating deficiencies before they escalate into critical failures. This proactive approach extends the service life of nuclear infrastructure while maintaining the highest standards of operational safety.
Qualified Coating Application Services
When coatings need repair or replacement, we provide turnkey application services. Our surface preparation crews utilize multiple approved methods, and our coating applicators are highly trained in applying advanced nuclear coatings designed for long-term durability. Whether working on immersed or vapor-phase components, we ensure that coatings are applied under strict quality control standards to guarantee consistent performance.
UT-15: A Proven Solution for Nuclear Applications
We are proud to offer UT-15, the only underwater repair coating DBA-qualified for application in critical nuclear facilities. UT-15 has been successfully applied in the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant (MNGP) torus using Phenoline 368 WG and in the Fermi 2 Torus with Carboguard 6250N. In addition, UT-15 is proposed for torus vapor region repairs due to the limited availability of Phenoline 368 WG.
What makes UT-15 stand out is its 100% solids formulation, containing no VOCs, and its ability to cure effectively under moist and immersion conditions. This eliminates the need for costly ventilation or additional environmental controls. With over 30 years of proven performance in both immersion and vapor-phase applications, UT-15 represents a reliable and sustainable solution for nuclear facilities worldwide.
Commitment to Safety and Environmental Compliance
Every project we undertake prioritizes industrial safety and environmental responsibility. By leveraging advanced safety coating solutions, we help clients maintain the integrity of critical nuclear assets while achieving compliance with regulatory standards. Our holistic approach ensures not only protection against corrosion and structural degradation but also long-term sustainability for the entire facility.
