As more of the world’s nuclear plants are shut down, the importance of safe efficient decommissioning practices increases. Divers play a vital role in this type of work. Crews are able to work in tight spaces that may be inaccessible to large remote cutting tools. This work can be done in a controlled safe manner and in many cases very close to highly irradiated components due to the water shielding.
